Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Kernel-level IP stack, in-depth know-how of IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Good understanding of multilayer switching and routing protocols, OSPF, RIP, BGP4, OLSR, AODV.
  • Proved intimate familiarity with "iproute2", policy-routing, Multiple QoS queues, packet tagging and mangling.
  • WAN communication protocols - PPP, PPPoE, ATM as well as understanding of DSL technologies, Fiber and basic Microwave/VSAT.
  • Applicants are expected to be familiar with and to have had past development experience in "C" under Linux-based systems, in F/OSS-rich environments. Revision control, QA and debugging is based on SVN and Trac.
  • Familiarity and experience with the following elements, terms and protocols will be a strong plus:
    • Perl, PHP, SQL, Squid, Radius, LDAP, VPNs (OpenVPN), Embedded-Linux
    • development (cross compilation, etc), WLAN environments (WEP, WPA, etc).
  • Applicants will be tested to prove their mastering of these elements: TOS based QoS policies, iptables filtering based on L7 classifiers and tags, kernel hacking to support multi-path load sharing/balancing and more.
